Marc J. Adelsheimer, MD

Marc J. Adelsheimer, M.D. is a cum laude graduate of Duke University where he earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology.  In 1991, he received his Doctorate of Medicine from The Medical College of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Adelsheimer completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Tufts University in Boston, the last year serving as Chief Resident.

Dr. Adelsheimer returned to Pittsburgh in 1996 and currently works for UPMC-Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Experts.  Dr. Adelsheimer specializes in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with musculoskeletal pain disorders.  In addition, he has expertise in fluoroscopically guided spinal injections and electrodiagnostic studies.  He also has extensive experience in workers’ compensation evaluations and treatment and Independent Medical Evaluations.

Dr. Adelsheimer is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a Fellow at the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  He has advanced Board Certification in the subspecialty of Pain Medicine.

In 2003, Dr. Adelsheimer joined The Center for Musculoskeletal Evaluations, Inc. (CME) network, as an independent physician performing IMEs and IME-related services.  He will examine IME patients with musculoskeletal injuries including neck and back injuries and will see patients with RSD, thoracic outlet syndrome, fibromyalgia, etc.  (Dr. Adelsheimer will not see IME patients with brain or spinal cord injuries).
